INTERNSHIPS

Educational Programs Intern

The Educational Programs Intern will play a crucial role in assisting our Director of Education with the planning, development, and implementation of engaging art programs tailored for children. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the museum education field while contributing to the growth and impact of our educational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Director of Education to plan and organize creative and age-appropriate art programs for children, including workshops, interactive exhibits, and special events.
• Assist in the setup, facilitation, and coordination of children's programs and activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for participants.
• Plan and coordinate our Art Start program for pre-school aged children and their families.
• Coordinate and facilitate STEAM programming both at the museum and in our partnered outreach facilities.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for new educational programs that align with our museum's mission and target audience.

Duration and Compensation:

This internship position has the opportunity for flexible hours to accommodate for academic commitments. As an intern, you will receive valuable mentorship and hands-on experience in the museum education field.

• Current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, pursuing a degree in art education, museum studies, early childhood education, or a related field.
• A strong passion for art and a genuine interest in fostering creativity and learning among children.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and fellow team members.
• Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability in developing and implementing engaging art activities.
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a desire to contribute proactively to the museum's mission.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media apps software are a plus.
